Running clears your mind and refreshes your hope
In these times, when for many of us one of the few acceptable reasons to NOT shelter at home is exercise, running is a great way to nurture your soul and refresh your spirit.
I wasn't a runner, in fact I hated it. But now I find it a great relief to run each day. When I'm stuck for an idea, or confused about where we are all headed in this coronavirus crisis, running really helps get back my perspective. It can for you too. The need to avoid groups of people - as has been commonly prohibited by authorities around the globe - is not just to reduce the spread of coronavirus, it is also to reduce the death rate.
The total amount of virus a person has inside them is referred to as their "viral load". A higher viral load is associated with a higher severity illness that you will suffer. The need to keep our social distance during the coronavirus epidemic has generally been working well. However, we may be underestimating the range of community spread via aerosol transmission.
Research in Japan shows that aerosol transmission is still potent for up to 30 minutes. This finding is important for all of us in managing our risks. For specific groups like cyclists, it is important enough to be concerning.
