Stats show Australians of all ages engaged with YouTube

Anthill Magazine reports that Australians are big fans of YouTube:

• 86% of the community say YouTube is their favourite place to watch videos and
• 63% agree YouTube is one of their favourite websites 
• 9% stay longer than they intended (on average 1 hour, 9 mins per week)
• 62% visit at least once a week.

That's impressive. Contrary to common opinion it's not geeks who visit YouTube - the above 40s made up 41% of users and 61% said they were not tech-savvy.

Conducted by Research International on behalf of Google, the project interviewed 3,00 males and females from across Australia aged 14 and over who had visited YouTube in the past three months.
